Some Fashion Relief
With all of the whoop-lah of the upcoming election and our country's economic state of near Great Depression, this morning I thought I would drink my peppermint tea and listen to Emma Shapplin's astonishing opera voice while thinking instead about, well, my new shoes of course.
I know that some [OCD] women spend hundreds of dollars on a single pair of shoes, but $22.99 is a high price for this thrifty mama. Still, I might be living in a tenement building very soon with my wash hanging outside of my 13th floor window while I'm (hopefully) looking make-the-best-of-it with a flowery scarf around my head and stirring a humongous steaming cast iron pot of... something. More laundry maybe?
So it was time for me to buy a new pair of shoes at Slave Labor Payless, which would bring scoldings of hypocrisy from anyone who has possibly heard of me until, that is, one actually sees the shoes:
And this so logically brings me to the next Philosophy of Elizabeth: In all of your doing good, don't forget a touch of bad to help you remember that you are not holier than God.
So the new shoes are the current representative of my attempt to prove that although blogging can make us all look a little more wonderful than we really are, it can also be an avenue to show off our true cutesy colors too.
And they are just as adorable on real feet. I think I might even wear these to bed at night.
