I Love Vox Except....
I enjoy Vox for its group and neighborhood features and its stellar template and format options. When I happily imported and transferred all of my blogs to Vox, I didn't care too much about outside readers not being able to leave comments... but now I care. Outside readers probably don't want to sign up with yet another blogging service just to leave a quick comment.
Why does Vox have to keep such a tight noose around its members? I understand that in order to develop a community, there needs to be certain regulations, but restricting comments to only inside bloggers doesn't seem to be a necessity. It also doesn't have an export function in order to transfer blogs to another network if one decided to get "out."
Blogger currently does not have an importing tool except for other Blogger blogs. Wordpress has an import function but it only covers certain networks, excluding Vox. And you have to pay for a blog at Typepad.
So I feel a little stuck at the moment. I love blogging and I highly appreciate these free domains on the web in order to voice our lives. I also appreciate Vox and in spite of its socialistic attempt to gain and keep members, it looks like I will be sticking around for a while.

Serisously though you do know you can restrict posts to freinds etc ?

Yes, I also love the blog privacy feature of Vox. More people should use it in fact.
I read that Vox is working on an export function (in order for bloggers to back-up their posts....)
I will continue leaving feedback to Vox requesting open comments or an explanation for why it would not work with a network that provides neighborhoods and groups. Maybe all networks will provide this option someday? Let's hope!
